Dear colleagues and friends,
JSIAD was established in 2017 through the merger of the Japanese Society for Primary Immunodeficiency, the Society for Phagocyte Abnormalities, and the Society for Autoinflammatory Diseases. While focused on primary immunodeficiency disorders and autoinflammatory diseases, it addresses hereditary disorders across various immune-related conditions, including not only susceptibility to infection and inflammatory pathologies but also allergies, rheumatic and collagen diseases, hematology, and inflammatory bowel disease.
In the field of congenital immune disorders, recent advances in causative gene identification technologies and the social implementation of genetic testing have greatly expanded opportunities to deliver diagnoses to patients. At the same time, we are acutely reminded of the importance of personalized medicine based on each patient’s specific condition, as cases exist where patients with the same genetic abnormality respond differently to treatments. As in previous meetings, this conference will focus on disease awareness, diagnosis, understanding pathophysiology, and treatment. By deepening discussions from diverse perspectives, we aim to further improve patient care. With this in mind, we have chosen the theme “The Evolving Landscape of Immune Disorders-Opening the New Horizon.”
Kurume is accessible via the Shinkansen, just 18 minutes from Hakata Station, or approximately 1 hour by airport bus from Fukuoka Airport. Kurume is renowned for its B-grade gourmet cuisine like ramen and yakitori and is also home to numerous Sake and Shochu breweries. While this marks the first time this academic meeting is held in Kyushu, we hope you will fully enjoy the best of Kurume alongside the lively discussions on IEI. We sincerely look forward to welcoming many of you.
